State Congress says situation not conducive for polls

The state Congress on Wednesday did not clarify it’s stand over their participation in Panchayat and Municipal polls but said that ‘condition prevailing in Valley is not conducive for polls’.

Addressing a presser, state congress chief, G A Mir said that the confusion, uncertainty and chaos is currently prevailing in administration as well as in Government of India over the conduct of polls.

“Let them clear their stand over holding the elections. Situation at present is not conducive for polls, ” Mir said.

State congress will be sending party leaders to New Delhi to hold deliberations with party high command over taking final call to boycott or participate in polls.
