Scores of teachers assembled at Press Enclave here and held a sit-in in favour of their demand to release seventh pay commission.

Rehbar-e-Taleem(ReT) teachers continued with their protests for the fifth consecutive day in Srinagar on Saturday.

Scores of teachers assembled at Press Enclave here and held a sit-in in favour of their demand to release seventh pay commission.

The sit-in was led by provisional president Rahi Irshad. The protesting teachers said “their struggle will continue till the release of seventh pay commission in their favour.”

Rahi said there is no reason to stop the pay commission benefits to 40,000 teachers of the state who had already provided the benefits of sixth pay commission and other state government employee benefits.

“We are not demanding any new thing which government can’t give us” he said.
