Prominent rights activist Gautam Navlakha arrested

Srinagar: At least five activists, including Gautam Navlakha have been arrested by police in connection with the Bhima-Koregaon violence case.

According to Quint the other four have been identified as  Sudha Bharadwaj, Arun Ferreira, Vernon Gonsalves, Varavara Rao.

The indian express reported that  police on Tuesday morning raided various locations across states over alleged Maoist links.

Media report quoting Shivaji Bodkhe, Joint Commissioner of Police (law and order), Pune, said that raids were conducted across Hyderabad, Delhi, Haryana, Mumbai and Ranchi.

The arrests and raids are about ‘over-expanding investigation into alleged Maoist involvement in the Elgaar Parishad, an event that was held a day before the bicentennial of Bhima Koregaon.

According to the police, the speeches made at Elgaar Parishad incited violence during the Bhima Koregaon event.
