Budgam: Government forces on Sunday allegedly ransacked some residential houses and vehicles at Ichgam village of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
A civilian identified as Mohammad Ashraf, a meson by profession, was also detained during a nocturnal raid, the locals said.
According to them, government forces at around 1 a.m. barged into the residential houses and vandalized the property.
They also claimed that forces also fired some aerial shot and also smashed the window panes of some vehicles.
Ashraf, as per his family, is innocent and demanded his immediate release.
When contacted Rafi Shah, SHO Budgam, said the person was detained in connection with some enquiry and if found innocent “we will release him soon as has been already promised to the villagers.”
He rejected locals claims about vandalization of property. “Everything is normal there and people are unnecessarily alleging vendalisation,” he added.
