Arrested ‘mastermind’ behind Mansbal blast: Police

Srinagar: Police on Friday said to have arrested “mastermind” behind explosive blast in which thirteen local visitors including minors and students were injured at Mansbal Park on June 17. “The accused was absconding after the blast,” a police spokesman said in a statement issued here.

Police identified him as Mohammad Imran sofi son of Abdul Majeed Sofi resident of Kondabal Safapora Ganderbal.

Soon After the blast, police filed FIR (20/2018) related to Explosive blast at Manasbal Park.

“The investigation suggests that the accused had masterminded the blast. Besides, the accused is also a chronic stone pelter. He is involved in instigating the youth of the area to resort to stone pelting.

The accused has been detained for further investigation,” the spokesman added.
