Budgam lawyers, traders protest attempts to revoke Article 35A

Budgam: District Bar Association and Traders Union Tower Chowk Budgam on Saturday staged a protest demonstration at main Chowk Budgam against the attempts to revoke Article 35-A of the Indian constitution.
The lawyers were joined by locals after they marched towards the Main Chowk from district court complex amid slogans against scraping of Article 35A.
Advocate Ghulam Ahmad Niyazi said, “The attempt to revoke the Article 35A is nothing but a threat to our special status.”
“The People of Kashmir will never surrender before such attempts but will sacrifice their lives in order to protect the special status of their state,” said advocate Mir Hafizullah.
The lawyer fraternity also appealed the people to fight for the protection of Article that gives them a special status.
Meanwhile dozens of traders also took a protest rally under the banner of (TUTCB) against the attempts to do away with the Article. The protesters blamed India for attempting to revoke the Article “which Kashmiris would never let happen at any cost.”
