Kashmir lawyer’s body calls meeting on Article 35-A tomorrow

Srinagar: Kashmir High Court Bar Association has on Saturday called a joint meeting of its executive and the members of the committee constituted to pursue petitions against Article 35-A before Supreme Court.
The meeting has been scheduled for 2 p.m. at district court complex Moominabad Srinagar, according to the lawyers’ body.
A bunch of petitions, challenging Article 35A of the Constitution which empowers the Jammu and Kashmir legislature to define its ‘permanent residents’ and bestow on them special rights and privileges, is pending adjudication o the Supreme Court.
