Tral: A young cricketer from Tral has been appointed as captain in one of the historical cricket teams namely Saltarie cricket club in England.
Zahid Nissar, resident of main town Tral, has been an active cricketer not only in Kashmir but in India as well. With some brilliant knocks he has made his place in England. 
Established in 1869, Saltaire Cricket Club aims to provide cricketing facilities of a high standard and provide comprehensive coaching locally, encouragement and matchplay experience for the young.

The SCC is affiliated with Bradford Cricket League, Bradford Mutual Sunday School Cricket League, West Yorkshire, Bradford, Yorkshire Cricket Board

Zahid has represented SRM university in prestigious All India University, RedBull Campus Cricket and many Inter University tournaments, where he has captained SRM Cricket as well.
Zahid is currently in England for his second consecutive cricket season and has already made a name for himself by constantly performing well, which is helping him to achieve his goals daily.
The place where most of the Asian batsmen fail to cope up with condtions, Zahid has scored runs in abundance during his first English season.
Playing as an amateur overseas player for various clubs across West Yorkshire which took part in prestigious Bradford Premier League, Huddersfield League and Quad-E-Azam League, Zahid has scored a big double hundred to go with few hundreds and many match winning half centuries.
Zahid has represented Pudsey Congs as an overseas player where VVS Laxman, Rana Naveed Ul Hassan has played as the overseas cricketer.
Zahid was playing for Saltaire Cricket Club which plays in Aire and Wharfdale Senior Cricket League and has already scored many match winning knocks.
Keeping in view his brilliant performance, Zahid was appointed as the captain of Saltaire Cricket team after his valuable experience helped team to reach in top four teams.
Talking to INS exclusively, Zahid said that he is very happy for being appointed as captain in such a big club which is a great achievement.
“It comes with more responsibility. I am very much  confident to lead the side,” Zahid told INS, adding that the overseas player hardly get a chance to captain any side but the club was impressed about how I read the game and situations.
“So here I am leading the side now,” he said.
