3 ‘hardcore active members’ of JeM arrested: Police

Sopore: Police on Monday claimed to have busted a JeM module by arresting three “hardcore active members” of the organization during naka checking at Haritar and Yarbugh Rafiabad areas north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

“Acting on a credible input, a joint team of security forces laid a naka at Haritar area today. During checking, a suspicious person was apprehended and during preliminary questioning, he revealed his identity as Bilal Ahmad Kaloo son of Ab Rehman Kaloo resident of Takiabal Sopore,” a police officer said, adding, “ He is an active member  of proscribed terror outfit JeM and 02 grenades, a Matrix sheet of JeM outfit were recovered from his possession. In this regard a case FIR number 65/2018 under section   7/25 A. Act,  13 ULA Act,  has been registered in Police Station Tarzoo and investigation has been taken up.”

Similarly, the police said, two more active members of JeM outfit were apprehended by Police with the assistance of forces during naka checking at  Yarbugh Rafiabad. They were identified as Asif Sheikh son of Ghulam Qadir Sheikh and Abdul Majeed Mir son of Ghulam Ahmad Mir, both residents of Yarbugh Rafiabad.

“01 Hand Grenade, 04 rounds  of AK47 and 02  Matrix sheets of JeM Outfit were recovered from their possession,” police said, adding, “ A case FIR number 92/2018 under section 7/25 A. Act, 13 ULA Act  has been registered in Police Station Dangiwacha and investigation has been taken up.”
