Following Govrnors rule employee attendance in Civil Secretariat jumps from 45 to 80 percent

AEBAS registration of employees improves by 49 %

SRINAGAR, JULY 12: Following the imposition of Governor’s Rule in the State, the punctuality in Government offices including the Civil Secretariat is being strictly monitored by the General Administration Department and the Governor’s Secretariat on daily basis.

In the Civil Secretariat from 45.40% on 21st of June, 2018, the attendance of the employees, as per the Biometric Attendance Report has substantially jumped close to 80%, which will further improve in the coming days.

As per the Centralized Personnel Information System (CPIS) Database, 109654 employees are now registered on the Aadhaar Enabled Bio Metric Attendance System (AEBAS), as against 73461 registered on AEBAS on 22nd of June, 2018. Similarly, as of today, 2466 employees in Civil Secretariat are registered on AEBAS, as against 2279 on 22nd of June, 2018.

It is pertinent to mention that to ensure punctuality in Government offices including the Civil Secretariat, the General Administration Department on the instructions of the Governor issued a circular on 21st of June, 2018, wherein, it was impressed upon all Administrative Secretaries to ensure implementation of the Biometric Attendance System in their offices, as well as subordinate departments/organizations. The department were instructed to install adequate number of Biometric Attendance Systems for convenience of the employees.

Consequent to the instructions, attendance in the offices has shown substantial improvement.

This system is also being extended to all districts, tehsils & blocks in a phased manner. This will improve governance in the entire state.
