Hajj 2018: Div Com calls for hassle-free arrangements

Srinagar: In order to ensure smooth arrangements for Hajj-2018, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan today directed all District Development Commissioners (DDCs) of Kashmir Division including Leh and Kargil to ensure hassle-free arrangements for the Hajj pilgrims in their respective districts.

The Divisional Commissioner issued this direction while reviewing the arrangements being provided to the pilgrims.

 All Deputy Commissioners appraised Div Com through video conferencing. Threadbare discussion were held regarding deployment of home guard volunteers at Hajj House and airport, issuance of security passes, medical facilities, proper sanitation, contingency plan, transportation, round the clock water and electricity, traffic route plan, currency exchange counters and other facilities at Hajj House Bemina and Airport.

Every day 820 Hajjis will take their flights from Srinagar Airport. In case of emergency, Hajj House Bemina can provide boarding and loading to 400 Hajjis.

For proper contingency plan, the Divisional Commissioner directed DC Srinagar to take Ustad Ghar Bemina, Youth Hostel and IMPA for additional boarding and loading for remaining Hajjis.

He directed all DCs to make whattsapp group for better coordination. Met Department will share daily weather advisories to all DCs including airport authorities.

Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Syed Abid Rashid Shah, CEO State Hajj Committee, Commissioner SMC, Joint Director Information, Deputy Director Health Services, Deputy Director Airport Authourity of India, SP Traffic, SP Airport and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
