Jalalabad: At least ten person have been killed in Jalalabad Afghanistan after gunmen stormed an education department compound on Wednesday.

According to reports many have been injured and officials, according to media reports said that many teachers were holed up inside the targeted building.

Officials said that a security guard employed by the education department branch was among the dead, Jalalabad health director Najibullah Kamawal was quoted in an AFP report in Dawn.

There has not been any immediate claim of responsibility for the attack by any of the groups.

According to media reports local teachers had been delivering exam results from their schools to the office when the gunmen attacked the building.
