A 40-year-old man was injured on Tuesday when he accidentally stepped over a landmine near the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Official sources said that Abdul  Hamid lone, 40, son of Abdul Rashid Lone a resident of Rachawali village of Nambla was injured critically in the blast near Rustum post-UK near LoC in Uri sector.

Hamid was taken to Sub District hospital Uri where doctors referred him Srinagar hospital for the specialised treatment.

They said that the device exploded when he stepped over the landmine.
