Kupwara:DC suspends ARTO for non-obedience of orders

Kupwara: The Deputy Commissioner Kupwara on Sunday placed Assistant Regional Transport Officer Mukhtar Ahmad (ARTO) Kupwara has been put under suspension for non- obedience of orders.

The order issued In this regard from DC office Kupwara reads that the officer Mukhtar Ahmed Sofi is suspended for failing to provide transport facility for UGC NET aspirants whose exams were scheduled to be held on 08 July.

According to the order earlier ARTO assured availability of 19 vehicles and he said that all drivers will reach at 5am near DC office Kupwara for aspirants appearing in NET exams but on Sunday morning no vehicle was present.

However Deputy Commissioner, Khalid Jehangir on war footing basis in morning arranged transport for NET aspirants from Handwara and all the aspirants from Kupwara district. 

All the aspirants  appeared in the examination at Srinagar.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Handwara will charge sheet the officer and furnish his report to DC Kupwara within fifteen days.
