GANDERBAL: District administration Gandeebal has finally registered a FIR against the alleged embezzlement in education department in the district.

Officials told INS that based on the complaint lodged by the Headmaster Govt. Girls High School, Shallabugh regarding embezzlement of government funds, Chief Education Officer, Ganderbal was entrusted with conducting preliminary Enquiry in the matter.
“After perusing the content of preliminary Enquiry report, DC Ganderbal Piyush Singla decided to lodge FIR in the matter,” sources said.

He further said that it is important to investigate the matter thoroughly as it involves public money.

INS had published a detailed report about the   Embezzlement in the department with prime accused a clerk who would fraudulently draw salaries of employees from the department.

The accused is believed to have been forging documents for decades altogether and may have embezzled an amount nearly a crore.

However sources in the department said that inquiry report has not been made public.
