Srinagar: Patwaris (revenue officials) on Thursday called off their 37-day strike in Jamsmu and Kashmir.
The decision came after a delegation of All J&K Patwar Association called on Financial Commissioner Revenue and reiterated their demands.
They discussed various issues pertaining to Patwaries across the State, an official statement said. “Financial Commissioner Revenue assured them that their genuine demands shall be considered sympathetically in due course by the State Government, it said. Patwar Association agreed to call off their strike with immediate effect, it added. Later, a member of the association said that strike has been called off.
