Srinagar: One of the policemen injured in attack by militants near Galander Pampore on Srinagar-Jammu highway succumbed to injuries on Wednesday.

Identified as Tanveer Ahmad, the police succumbed to injuries at army hospital at Srinagar.

Sources said that militants attacked the armed police’s party at Khandizaal area of Galander Pampore, resulting in injuries to two policemen who have been shifted to hospital. While one of them Tanveer Ahmad, who had suffered bullet injury on head, was referred to Srinagar for specialized treatment, another one Mudasir Ahmad was admitted in SDH Pampore.  They said entire area has been cordoned off and searches launched.
