Crime: Six gamblers, three drug peddlers arrested, Police

Srinagar: : Police arrested six gamblers in Sopore and three drug peddlers in Budgam on Wednesday and claimed of recovery from them as well.

Police spokesman said that Police Post Watergam, Sopore raided a gambling spot and six gamblers were arrested, while stake money of rupees 13580 and cards were recovered from the gambling spot.

“A case FIR number 74/2018 under section 13 gambling act has been registered in Police Station Dangiwacha and investigation has been taken up,” Police said.

In another incident Budgam police arrested three drug peddlers and recovered 25 kilograms of grinded poppy straw from their possession.

According to police spokesman Police Station Budgam intercepted a Wagon-R car during routine traffic checking.

“During checking of the vehicle, 25 kilograms of grinded poppy straw was recovered. Three accused persons identified as Shabir Ah Ahat son of Ghulam Hassan Bhat resident of Gojra, Kartar Singh son of Baa Singh resident of Manama District Taratran Punjab and Guru Sahab Singh son of Panjunram resident of Patti Bahadur Nagar Tarantaran Punjab, boarding the vehicle were arrested,” they said.
