Srinagar: A vegetable vendor was fired upon by unknown gunmen in Anantnag district of south Kashmir’s on Tuesday.

Official sources said the vendor Javaid Ahmad Waza was fired upon by the gunmen near Srigufara area in the district.

He was shifted to hospitalized, they said, adding it was not immediately known as to why he was fired upon by the forces.

A police officer confirming it said that a case has been registered and further investigations has been initiated.
