Tral : Animal farmers in Tral are worried about their cattle as the number of cattle severely effected by mouth and foot disease has risen steadily from last few weeks.
Animal farmers said that the foot-and-mouth disease among animals is affecting them severely but accused animal husbandry department to not helping in controlling the disease.
“Many cattle died due to this disease, they of high fever, weight loss, death of newborn animals and drastic decrease in milk production,” they said.
Incharge Block Veterinary Officer, Dr. Abdul Rashid, however said that a team of doctors have visited the effected areas and briefed farmers as to what ‘precautionary steps they must take’.
“They have been made aware about the management, prevention and control of the disease,” Abdul Rashid said.
He also said that the disease ‘doesn’t have any particular medicine and its treatment is natural by taking some precautionary measures.’
