Ganderbal: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday termed as “baseless and malafide” the reports claiming that buses carrying Kheer Bhawani mela pilgrims were pelted with stones.

“Rumors have been spread by a section of media particularly in Jammu regarding stone throwing on some Kheerbawani mela buses which is totally baseless and malafide,” SSP Ganderbal Fayaz Ahmad Lone said.

He said the pilgrims arrived safely and have been accommodated suitably.

“Necessary security arrangements are in place en route as well inside the temple,” he said.
