Kupwara: Charred body found in Kralpora forests

Kupwara: An unidentified body was recovered from Kralpora forests in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday morning.

Locals said that some shepherd spotted the charred body at Khazan Mati, top side of Kralpora forests and informed the concerned police station.

A police officer while confirming the incident said that a team was rushed immediately to the spot and recovered the body at 6:30am.

“The charred body is of a young man but is beyond the recognition and authorities are conducting all legal medico formalities including the postmortem and DNA tests to ascertain his identity,” Sp Kupwara Shriram Ambarkar said.

A case under relevant sections of law has also been registered and further investigations is taken up, the officer added.
