After saving kid, boy drowns in Jhelum

Srinagar:  In a heart wrenching incident a young boy lost his life after saving a child in Srinagar on Saturday.

Officials said that a 16-year-old student drowned after he saved a small child from drowning in river Jehlum in Srinagar.

“A small boy fell into river Jehlum at Armwari Zero Bridge, ” they said.

To save the drowning kid Shakir Wani, a PUC student, jumped into the river and saved the boy.

Shakir however, could not come out from the river and drowned, they said.

Body of shakir has been recovered.
