Kathua Case: Law Minister reviews action taken status on SC directions

SRINAGAR, JUNE 02: Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Syed Basharat Bukhari today convened a meeting to review action taken status on Supreme Court directions in Kathua Rape and Murder Case to ensure a smooth and fair trial.

Taking note of the directions of the Supreme Court in the case, the Minister asked the concerned to take necessary steps in accordance with the directions of the Supreme Court.

Bukhari further asked for sufficient provisions to be made in compliance with the Supreme Court directions including providing requisite number of interpreters, making provision for transport of all involved in the case along with food and other amenities.

Advocate General J&K Jahangir Iqbal Ganai, Principal Secretary Home RK Goyal, Director General of Police SP Vaid, Director General Prisons, Dilbagh Singh, Secretary Law Abdul Majid Bhat, Inspector General of Police, Crime Branch, Srinagar Ahfadul Mujtaba, besides other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
