JAMMU, May 17
: Janata Dal United, J&K unit, urged Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, who is visiting J&K on May 19, to announce some special package for the people of the State in general and youth in particular.
Briefing media persons here on Thursday, State President of Janata Dal United, G.M Shah (Shaheen) said that after the death of Burhan Wani there is volatility in the State due to the ill-conceived and confused policies of the unholy alliance of the PDP and BJP.
“The youth of the state are facing enormous problems due to unemployment in the State,” he said, adding that the Prime Minister should announce adequate package for J&K so that concrete measures should be taken to address the alienation especially among the youth.
Reacting over the Chief Ministers’ proposal of “unilateral ceasefire” during the month of Ramzan, Shaheen termed it as a bluff and said that no consensus on the issue of a unilateral ceasefire took place during the All Party Meeting held at Srinagar.
He said that such type of proposal will bring no results on ground. “PDP is just befooling the people of the State. If she (Mehbooba) is serious about resolving the sufferings of the people of the state she must discussed the aforesaid issue in the All Party Meeting,” Shaheen added.
“As You Sow, As You Reap” Shaheen said, adding that if Mehbooba Mufti took welfare measures for the people of Kashmir Valley in the past she couldn’t need to call a All Party Meet.
“Calling of All Party Meet give itself a clear message that the PDP government has been failed on all fronts,” he emphasised.
Shaheen asserted that in the coming days Janata Dal United will lead a delegation to meet the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi in New Delhi and discuss him with present situation of the J&K.
Expressing concern over the sufferings of people of Jammu region, Shaheen said that there is no accountability of the hardships being faced by the people related to the basic amenities.
“After shifting of Secretariat to Srinagar, no government office is working in Jammu region as people are seen on roads due to scarcity of power and water supply and there is no one to hear the grievances of people,” Shaheen said.
Shaheen appealed to the government to address the problems of people of Jammu region on priority failing which the Janata Dal United will come on roads and expose the misdeeds of the ruling government on all fronts.
Earlier, Shaheen inaugurated the Party Office at Gujjar Basti, Gali No 5, Belicharana near Fourth Tawi Bridge, Jammu.
Prominent among those who were present in the press conference include Ghulam Nabi Dar, Senior Vice President, Yashpal Sharma District President mukash gupta ali akbar ashok sharma
