62 ration depots found locked in Poonch

POONCH: Around 62 of 127 inspected Ration Depots/ Fair Price Shops of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs department were found locked during a well coordinated surprise inspection conducted by the district administration in all tehsils of the district.

During the inspections 19 of 35 Fair Price Shops in tehsil Haveli, 13 of 17 in Mandi, 22 of 25 in Surankote and 5 of 29 in Mendhar were found locked whereas in Mankote 3 of 13 fair price shops were found closed. However all fair price shops in Balakote tehsil were found opened and ration was being distributed to the public.

The inspection took place on Friday.

The inspection was conducted by teams of Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars and field staff of revenue department on the directions of Deputy Commissioner , Mohammad Aijaz Asad.

Taking serious note of issue of closure of FPS the DDC directed AD FCS & CAs to  initiate action for cancellation of licenses of such dealers and also seek explanations from concerned Tehsil Supply Officers for this negligence in delivery of services. He also passed strict directions to the concerned to ensure that Ration is provided well in time to public in coming month of Ramadan.
