The Committee has said that time bound enquiry should be held so that the culprits are identified and brought to book.

In a statement, APSCC Chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina said that it is important to expose the elements who are hell bent to defame the centuries long Kashmiriyat. Raina said that Kashmiris have always been hospitable and kind and ensured that no harm whatsoever is caused to the guests visiting this place.

“The state government should intervene in the matter and direct the police to carry out a time bound probe in the stone pelting incident. This would ensure that swift and stern action is taken against the people or agencies responsible for this unfortunate incident. It is the duty of the government to expose the anti-Kashmir elements and they must come up to the expectations of the people,” said Raina.

The APSCC Chairman expressed dismay that some people have blown the incident out of proportion for their own ulterior motives. He said that people irrespective of their political ideologies have condemned the stone pelting incident adding that there is no scope for politics on the matter. He asked the different media houses not to give any communal tinge to the stone pelting incident.

“Despite being pushed to the wall Kashmiris have always been very kind and hospitable to the people coming from different parts of India and abroad. Glorious example of Kashmiriyat got displayed once again as all the political parties condemned the stone pelting incident. National Conference, Peoples Democratic Party, Hurriyat Conference and other separatist organizations voiced their concern against the stone pelting incident,” said Raina.

The APSCC Chairman said that Kashmiris have been suffering losses on account of stray stone pelting incidents adding that same should not be generalized. He said that NC and PDP should stop playing the blame game since the people of Kashmir have been suffering due to the wrong policies of both these parties.

Raina conveyed his sympathies to the Chennai family who lost its son in the stone pelting incident. He said that whole Kashmir is with the Chennai family in this hour of grief and sorrow.
