JAMMU: In its endeavor to ensure strict enforcement of Traffic Rules and Motor Vehicle Act besides safety on roads, Traffic Police Rural Jammu today conducted intensive checking under the supervision of Superintendent Of Police Traffic Rural, Jammu, Mushtaq Choudhary.

During the drive conducted in the month of April-2018, a large number of private and commercial vehicles including buses, matadors, bikes, etc. were booked and seized. The Traffic team challaned 12349 vehicles, of which, 741 violators were booked under the offence of Overloading, 2221 against not wearing of Crash Helmets, 1579 against Non Wearing of Seat Belts, 1543 against Without DL,  37  against Use of Mobile Phone/Dangerous Driving besides 308 vehicles were seized under other offences during the period. The people were also counselled and asked to follow traffic rules for their own safety. He also appealed the parents to ensure that their wards do not drive two wheelers without wearing Crash Helmets.

He appealed the public that they shall not board those passenger vehicles which are overloaded and if they find any passenger vehicle not complying the Motor Vehicle Rule and facilitating overloading, shall immediately communicate to the concerned Traffic Control Unit at 0191-2459048 and 9419147732.
