Sameer Tiger, Aqib Mushtaq killed in Pulwama gunfight

Srinagar: Two Hizbul Mujahideen militants were killed in a gunfight with the government forces in Drubgam village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday.

The slain militants were identified as Sameer Ahmad Bhat s/o M Maqbool Bhat alias Sameer Tiger, and Aqib Mushtaq s/o Mushtaq ahmad khan alias ayk khan of Rajpora Pulwama.

The gunfight has happened after an unverified video purportedly of militant commander went viral on social media. A man identifying himself as Jeelani Ahmad Dar pleads for forgiveness before militant (not seen in video)

Purportedly Sameer Tiger, the militant in the video directs him to convey to Shukla (probably an army officer in the area) to confront them directly.

The Army Major with last name Shukla along with another army man was injured in the gunfigt. Shukla is reported to be in critical condition.

Almost ten civilians were injured in the clashes around the encounter site while one civilian succumbed to his injuries later.
