Govt forms panel for fast tracking consumer metering

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday constituted a committee for fast tracking of consumer metering including their operation, maintenance, reading and billing services, and the implementation of Smart Grid Projects in State.
Headed by Chief Secretary, the committee has three members in administrative secretaries of inance, planning, development & monitoring department and power development department.
It has been tasked to critically analyse the consultancy charges as contained in the proposal and suggest measures to maximize participation of State owned PSUs and local contractors.
Serviced by the Power Development Department, the Committee has been asked to submit its report within a period of one month.
