Mirwaiz remains under house arrest, Hurriyat (M) postpones executive meeting

Srinagar: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, the chairman of Hurriyat Conference (M), remained under house arrest following which amalgam has postponed its executive council meeting scheduled at party headquarters ate Rajbagh here on Monday.
In a statement issued here, the Hurriyat Conference termed the continued house arrest of Mirwaiz as undemocratic, dictatorial and political vendetta.
“The statement government’s recent claim that Hurriyat conference chairman and other senior leaders were free to carry with their activities have proved hoax,” said a spokesman in the statement and condemned the continued house arrest of Mirwaiz at Nigeen residence.
