Srinagar: President of India Ramnath Kovind arrives in his maiden visit to Jammu to participate in convocation of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University on April 18.
According to an official spokesman Chief Secretary BB Vyas on Saturday reviewed the arrangements for the upcoming visit of President in a meeting which was attended by Financial Commissioner Housing and Urban Development KB Agarwal, Principal Secretary Home RK Goyal, DGP SP Vaid, Principal Secretary to Governor Umang Narula, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Rohit Kansal, Principal Secretary Health and Medical Education Pawan Kotwal, Principal Secretary Higher Education Asgar Samoon, ADG CID AG Mir, ADG Security Muneer A Khan, Commissioner Secretary GAD, Khursheed Ahmad, Commissioner Secretary PDD Hirdesh K Singh, Commissioner Secretary PWD Sanjeev Verma, and other senior Civil, Police and Army officers.
“Chief Secretary asked the departments concerned to make sure that all necessary arrangements are made in time for the high-profile visit to the state,” an official statement said.
He stressed on maintaining close coordination among various departments including security to ensure successful visit of the President.
The Chief Secretary was informed about the arrangements put in place with regard to security, reception, traffic, healthcare, seating arrangements, sanitation, drinking water, presentation of cultural programs, and other related arrangements, the spokesman added.
