SPO shot dead in Pulwama

Srinagar: A Special Police Officer (SPO) in Police was shot dead by suspected militants in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday.
Sources said that the SPO, Mohammad Ashraf, at Muran Chowk in the district at around 4:30 p.m.
A resident of Mouchpona village suffered serious bullet wounds and was shifted to the nearby district hospital.
A former militant, Ashraf was working as an SPO in Cargo Srinagar and at present was residing at Chanapora area here.
SSP Pulwama Mohammad Aslam Choudary confirmed the SPO’s death. Soon after the attack, Police, Paramilitary CRPF and army cordoned off the area and launched a hunt to nab the suspected militants.
