Official apathy: Gov’t appoints ADC Sopore 24 days back, officer reluctant to join office

Sopore: Twenty four days have passed since the Government transferred Mohammad Asharf Bhat KAS as  Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore but is yet to join office. People are facing immense hardships while officials say ‘they cant anything’ about it.

After former ADC was transferred as Assistant Regional Transport Officer Kashmir, Bhat who was ICDS project Officer in Anatnag was posted for the post.

“He is yet to join office. The chatter in administration is that he won’t join and is pushing to get order of transfer revoked,” sources in the district administration office confided.

“Government on March 07 appointed ADC Sopore Khurshid Ahmad Shah posted Regional Transport Officer Kashmir (RTOK). As per an order issuer here the government also ordered transfer with immediate effect of Mohammad Asharf Bhat KAS ICDS project Officer Annatnag and posted him as ADC Sopore,” sources said.

According to a delegation of people from Sopore and its adjoining areas including Zaingeer,Khue, Wadoora payeen,Achabal, they have to move from pillar to post even for a simple application.

Interestingly DDC Baramulla Asif Naqash, when asked as why is there no ADC claimed helplessness in resolving the issue.

“I can’t do anything, it is responsibility of Government. They should take care this issue,” Naqash claimed.
With reluctant officer to join and people suffering MLA sopore Abdul Rashid Dar also claimed helplessness accusing the coalition government of BJP-PDP of ‘playing with sentiments of people’.

“I am helpless, our party is not in power. So the coalition government plays with the sentiments of people of Sopore,” Dar said.
