HC quashes 9 PSA detention orders

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir High court has quashed detention orders under Public Safety Act of two youth from north Kashmir.

A bench of Justice M K Hanjura quashed order (No.12-DMK/PSA of 2017 dated 18th of October, 2017), passed by   District Magistrate, Kupwaraunder Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act by virtue of which Javid Ahmad Lone son Abdul Rahim Lone of Shallapora, Langate Kupwara was detained and lodged in Central Jail, Kotbhalwal, Jammu.

The court also quashed order (No. 123/DMB/PSA/2017 dated 18th of October, 2017,) passed by the District Magistrate, Baramulla under PSA by virtue of which Zahoor Ahmad Lone son Late Mohammad Subhan Lone of Tantary Pora, Palhallan Baramulla was detained and lodged in District Jail, Kathua. The court ordered that both of them be released forthwith from the preventive custody, “if not required in any other case.”
