The construction of the DIET building in Pampore outskirts was approved under PWD (R&B) department in February 2011 with the project cost of 478.00 lacs.

The DIET building near GDC campus was approved to decrease the congestion in present office of DIET at Boys Higher Secondary in Pampore.

Meanwhile, the locals of Pampore complained that work of DIET building is underway at snail’s pace. “More than seven years have passed but the building is still incomplete,” a resident, said.

The DIET Principal Mohammad Ashraf Aga, when contacted, to confirm about the reasons of delay in construction work, said that, R&B department is working on the said project and they can give better answer as building belongs to R&B till they will handover it to DIET.

Assistant Executive Engineer, Roads and building department, Aashiq Hussain, told that, lack of funds on time is delaying its construction process frequently.

“Lack of funds is delaying the work, otherwise only few steps including finishing ends is to be taken now to complete the building,” Hussain said.
