Shopian: The Thokerpora-Nagbal road in this south Kashmir district is in dilapidated condition with ditches and potholes having emerged at several places.
The people blame the successive governments of neglecting the area.
“It is a link road connecting Thokepora Bandpahoo with Nagbal to Imam Sahib,” the residents told INS. “The government has ignored us.”
They said the politicians visit only when elections are near. “They promise of addressing the issues and after we vote, forget us altogether,” they said.
The residents have appealed the local MLA and the administration especially R&B Department to look into the matter.
When contacted, the Xen R&B Shopian Mohammad Aziz told INS, “We are working day and night to provide better facilities to people. We will start work on this road also.”
