Police arrests accused in a kidnapping case, rescues girl

Ganderbal: Police on Wednesday  claimed to have arrested the accused in a kidnapping case of a girl ‘in shortest possible time’.

“Ganderbal police received a complaint from one person Muhammad Maqbool Dar that his daughter (name withheld) has been kidnapped by Muhammad Altaf Dar son of Muhammad Amin Dar resident of Banyari Jalalpora Hajin,” police spokesman said.

Ganderbal police constituted a team on the directions of ASP Ganderbal Fayaz Hussain, assisted by SHO Ganderbal Nisar Hurrah and investigation to trace the accused was started.

“ Within hours of the report filed, the Police team traced the girl and the accused involved. The girl was rescued and the accused involved was arrested. After completion of legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her parents,” spokesman said.

In this regard, a case FIR number 35/18 under section 109, 366 RPC was registered.
