Dublin is the capital of Republic of Ireland.

The attacker has been identified as John Paul Mulready (40). He stabbed his upstairs neighbour, Dermot Byrne, in the leg and bit him on the face.

Irishtimes reported that Byrne composes poetry and eventually got rid of the attacker by swinging a large bottle of vodka at him after another neighbour intervened.

The attacker has admitted to law enforcement agencies that he had attacked Mr Byrne on the night because of “poetry recited incessantly” from upstairs, irishtimes said.
