Baramulla: A militant, who had reportedly escaped in injured condition from Hajin in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, has succumbed, official sources said on Tuesday.
They said the militant believed to be from Pakistan had suffered serious bulle

t injuries in the encounter with joint team of police, army and CRPF at Bonmohalla area of the Hajin on Monday morning. Police sources identified him as Abu Haris.
As reported already, militants on Monday managed to escape after exchanging fire with the joint team of forces at Bonmohalla. A civilian was also injured during the clashes that broke out in the area amid gunfight.
As the joint team was strengthening the cordon, sources said, youth took to streets and staged protests. They also resorted to pelting stone at forces, they said.
Forces resorted to teargas smoke shells, pellet and aerial firing to disperse the protesters near the cordon site. Later the CASO was called off.
