Kupwara: Three persons were killed and as many others were rescued after they were swept by an avalanche at Lashkote area in Dardpora Lolab of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday.
Reports quoting local sources said that the avalanche struck Lashkote on Saturday afternoon, trapping six persons who had reported gone to the area, hilly area connecting Bandipora-Dardpora through pedestrian road, for hunting.
Soon after the incidents, locals of the area and police team rushed to the area, recovering three of the alive while as many others were found dead under the snow. The identity of the deceased trio could not be confirmed immediately.
