Journalists barred from covering Dineshwar Sharma’s visit to Kulgam, protest

Kulgam: Journalists Friday protested outside DC Office complex after authorities barred them from covering visit of Govt of Indian appointed representative Dineshwar Sharma to the district.

“All the media persons working in district are  informed to cover the interlocutor Mr Dineshwar Sharma’s visit to kulgam tomorrow at 11.00 am at DC office complex,” authorities had sent messages to the journalists.

However couple of hours later authorities issued another order that read: “As communicated by DDC Kulgam Mr Talat Parvaiz just now no Media coverage would be allowed for tomorrow’s VIP visit….”

According journalists authorities on Friday requested media men to remain present on the arrival of Sharma, ‘but they were not permitted to enter into DC office premises.’

 

Media personnel staged a protest that was still going in then ADC kulgam reached spot and request the media to enter and cover the event
