Srinagar: Police on Saturday said it arrested four bootleggers at Nigeen in outskirts of Srinagar and recovered 15 bottles of wine from their possession.
Police during a snap naka intercepted an auto (JK01-4177) and apprehended four persons, a police spokesman said.
They have been identified as Sarvan Kumar, Manoj Ram, Janak Ram, residents of Darmangatpur UP at present Zakoora and Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh of Sheikh Hamza colony Zakoora. “15 bottles of wine were recovered from the auto.”
He said police has registered a case FIR number 08/2018 under section 48 Excise Act and investigation was taken up.
