Jammu: Kashmiri migrant relief holders and youth, who have surpassed government fixed age for employment, on Monday staged a protest demonstration in Jammu against ruling PDP-BJP’s ‘discriminatory’ approach in resolving their grievance.
The protesters said that the attitude of the government has made their life “miserable” and that over-aged youth and the relief holders have become the victims of “bureaucratic apathy”.
They said that the Rs 83 per soul per day as cash assistance was not sufficient to cater their needs keeping into view the high inflation.
They demand the immediate enchantment in cash assistance from Rs.83 per soul to Rs 300 per soul so that they can manage their day to day sustenance.
They also demanded immediate steps for health insurance to the relief holders.
The over-aged youth of the displaced community said that successive government, both state and centre have paid no heed to their grievances.
“The stone pelters and the anti-national are being rehabilitated and peace loving national are being ignored.”
They said the financial package be announced in favour of averaged persons of the community as rehabilitation measure.
They threatened to intensify stir if the demands were not met immediately.
