Pulwama: Clashes erupted between locals and government forces on Friday morning after the latter launched cordon and search operation (CASO) in Kareemabad village of this south Kashmir district. The situation has returned to normal.
Reports said people took to streets and resorted to stone-pelting but were responded by teargas shells by forces, triggering further clashes.
Forces also resorted to aerial firing to disperse the protesters. Later on, the situation returned to normal after forces left.
There were no reports of injuries.
