Srinagar: A police officer on Thursday allegedly threaten a doctor on duty at an emergency hospital in Qazigund along the Srinagar-Jammu highway after he refused to provide medical opinion without all documents regarding death of a 100-year-old man in a road accident in May this year.
“Talk to me courteously. I will drag you out ….I will see you tonight,” the police officer is seen telling the doctor, Dr Nasser, in a video which was shot of the incident.
“The police officer, whether he is a DSP or SHO I don’t know, was seeking medical opinion in connection with the case. A few police constables approached me yesterday also and this (Thursday) morning and I told them to bring all the documents for the opinion,” Dr Naseer told INS.
“The police officer came and used rude language. He threatened me of implicating in false case and said that ‘I will see you tonight’,” the doctor said.
The case about which the police was seeking the medical opinion pertains to death of one Mohammad Ashoor Beigh (100) son of Abdul Samad Beigh in May this year. The police officer could not be contacted for his comment.
