Five labourers killed, 8 others injured in house collapse in Reasi

Jammu: Five labourers were killed while eight others suffered injuries when an under construction mud house collapsed in Reasi district of Jammu division on Wednesday evening.
Official said that labourers were at work and were laying mud over roof of the house when it collapsed at Nallah Panassa area at around 7:35 pm.
“Five labourers died on the spot and have been identified as Manzoor Ahmed s/o Mohd Shafi, Ashiq Ali s/o Mohd Wazir, Muzafer Ahmad s/o Zakir , Mhd Gafoor s/o Sain and Gulzar Ahmad s/o Salam Din, all resident of Nalla Panasa village”, they said.
Eight others who were injured in the incident have been shifted to nearby hospital by a team of police and locals who rushed to the spot immediately after the incident, they said.
The injured have been identified as Sadam s/o Mohd Hussain, Nazir Ahmed s/o Mohd Qasim, Mumtaz Ali s/o Zubair, Mohd Mukhtyar s/o Mohd Ali, Bashir Ahmed s/o Gulam Qadir, Mohd Akram s/o Zakir Hussain, all resident of Thob.
SSP Reasi Tahir Sajad Bhat confirmed that five labourers have been killed and eight others injured in the incident.
He said that police has registered a case in this regard and investigations have been launched into it.
