Hideout busted in Thanamandi, arms recovered

Jammu: A militant hideout was busted in Gamir-Mughal bowl around Thanamandi area in Rajouri district of Jammu division of the state on Tuesday.

According to police the hideout was busted in a joint search operation conducted by Army andJ&K Police, after receiving ‘inputs’.

“Acting on a specific input, a joint search operation was launched by Army and J&K Police on the night of 17  and 18 December 2017. During the search operation One Rocket Propelled Grenade, one AK-47, two pistols and sizeable quantity of AK & PIKA ammunition were recovered,” Police officials told INS.

“This successful operation has foiled designs of militants trying to vitiate the existing security environment in the twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch,” police official said.
