Srinagar: Kashmir High Court Bar Association on Thursday appreciated the 57-member Organisation of Islamic Co-operation (OIC) Istanbul Declaration recognizing East Jerusalem as the Capital of the State of Palestine “timely and a bold decision”.
In a statement issued here, the lawyers’ body said it appreciates OiC’s rejection of U.S. President Donald Trump’s unilateral decision, of recognizing Al-Qudus Asharief as the so called capital of Israel The OIC described the US move as an attack on the historical, legal, natural and national rights of the Palestinian people and a deliberate attempt of undermining all peace efforts.
“The Bar Association also appreciates the OIC in calling UN Security Council to assume its responsibilities immediately and reaffirm the legal status of the city of Al-Qudus Asharief and to end the Israel occupation of the land of Palestine and also in asking all States to fully implement UNSC Resolution and to refrain from supporting U.S. decision and not to relocate their diplomatic missions to Al-Qudus Asharief. “
The lawyers’ once again reiterates that unity amongst the Muslim Countries and the holding of summit to decry the U.S. decision was an appropriate step, which has sent clear message to the world that no Muslim can tolerate shifting of the Israel capital from Tel-Aviv to Jerusalem and in case it is so done it will have disastrous consequences.
