Srinagar: The State Human Rights Commission on Tuesday enjoined upon newspaper editors to “take and carry” picture of its new building in stories pertaining it.
“It has been observed that the newspapers, while carrying any news story of J&K State Human Rights Commission, publish a picture displaying the address of the Commission when it was headquartered in Dawn Building, Dalgate as a result of which many of the complainants look for the Commission in Dawn Building which the Commission has relinquished long back in 2013,” secretary SHRC said in a statement issued here.
“It is, as such, enjoined upon all the editors of the newspapers carrying any news story regarding the J&K State Human Rights Commission not to display any old picture of the Commission with old address, rather take and publish a picture with the present address of Old Assembly Complex, so that the complainants get the address of the Commission conveniently.”
